Each year, CVS Health colleagues volunteer thousands of hours with nonprofit organizations in their communities. To help our colleagues give even more support to the causes they care about, the CVS Health Foundation offers Volunteer Service Grants.
Grants, which range from $500 to $5,000, are awarded directly to the organization on behalf of the colleague.

Summary Of The Rural Health Care Program
The Rural Health Care Program provides funds to eligible health care providers for telecommunications and broadband services required to deliver health care. Eligible health care providers include:
- (1) post-graduate educational institutions offering training in health care, teaching hospitals and medical schools;
- (2) community health centers or health centers providing health care to migrants;
- (3) local health services or agencies;
- (4) community mental health centers;
- (5) non-profit hospitals;
- (6) rural dispensaries;
- (7) qualified nursing care facilities (as defined in Section 395i-3 (a) of Title 42 and
- (8) Consortium of healthcare providers composed of one or more entities falling into the first seven categories.
Additionally, eligible health care providers must be nonprofit or public. The goal of the program is to improve the quality of health care available to patients in rural communities by ensuring that eligible health care providers have access to telecommunications and broadband services.
As of the 2017 funding year (which ran from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018), funding for the rural health care program is capped at $571 million per year, adjusted for inflation.
The Rural Health Care Program is currently made up of two programs: the Healthcare Connect Fund Program and the Telecommunications Program.
The Healthcare Connect Fund program, established in 2012, provides support for high-capacity broadband connectivity to eligible healthcare providers and encourages the formation of state and regional broadband healthcare provider networks.
Under the Rural Health Care Program, eligible rural health care providers and eligible non-rural health care providers who are members of a consortium that has more than 50% of health care provider sites health care providers, receive a 65% flat-rate discount on a range of communication services.
These services include Internet access, dark fiber, corporate data, traditional digital line of service (DSL), and private transportation services.

Amounts And Duration Of Grant
